Broken pot, shattered
on the ground. Longing water
runs to loving Source.

This haiku came to me in a dream – and in the dream, I remembered to count the syllables to make sure it was a true haiku. As required, the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7, and the last line has 5 – for a total of 17. I had never attempted to write a haiku before. At the time of the dream, I was having major health problems and was thinking about death.
