By Judith, Hermit of Sarada
Red Rocks in the Fall
Pegged down by red rocks,
the tawny coated ironed earth
still rustles restlessly.
Upslope Fog
Dense upslope fog parts
russet-hued land beneath me —
clumped scrubs shredded for
winter.
Living Faith
The scouring wind cleans,
cleaving dead from living earth
—new hope it re-deposits.
Dust Devils Rising
Dust devils rising
recalled by pebbled red earth,
fade back into path.
Morning Glory
Fly at dawning light,
my dreams growing green
like you —
heart’s tears streaming wild
trickles.
